What the Dem strategists have right: It's all in the timing
Edited on Sat Oct-23-10 02:39 AM by prolesunited
The teabaggers have been annoying the hell out of people for months, while the Dems played it cool. The teabaggers have used most of their ammo and are now down the the really crazy shit to get noticed. People are seeing the crazy and saying, "Uh-oh."

And in comes the Dems in a full-court press, whipping out the facts, charm and a positive message. The momentum is building and will crest in time to drive people to the ballot box on Nov. 2.

They ran the same game in 2008 and look how that turned out. Pundits were saying it was a sure thing for McCain until the last minute when Obama came charging up from behind.

I'm not saying we won't lose seats, but it certainly won't be the bloodbath for the Dems that the media has been predicting. The GOP can throw their millions into the mix, but we've got the people behind us and a good ground game.

And judging from the size of the rallies nationwide, all I can say is "What enthusiasm gap?"

Fired up! Ready to go!

3. Good points!
:toast: Also, the TeaParty Express looks like a big flop. I saw Palin holding Trig on TV this morning. Never a good sign when you need to bring a baby on stage. Also, too it looks like a whopping 20 people showed up at this bus stop somewhere in AZ.

4. That's the way I run a campaign.
Raise money all through the season, spend sparingly. In the last few weeks buy TV, radio, print and billboards. It's the way to go I tell ya!

5. I'd just like to add that those who build 'models' of 'trends'
starting in June for an election that does not begin until September are using 'trends' that are imaginary. It starts on Labor Day. No 'trends' prior to that matter at all. At all.

6. Agree. The teabaggers rely so much on $$, they should be
realizing how short attention spans are.

11. Considering how much money they've spent
and owning their own propaganda machine, you really begin to see how awful their policies are to not be farther ahead.

14. Agree! Timing is everything....
The rabid right spent the summer trying to ratchet up the American public to turn against the Dems. Summer is NOT when the public is paying attention and, at best, they might have given the negative crap the right was spewing a 'Huh, interesting' as they headed out the door to the park, the backyard barbecue, spend time with their family, friends, etc. The Dems held their fire until the public was back at work, their kids back in school and the weather was conducive to staying inside, watching television, etc.

Timing IS everything.
