Daily Kos GOTV: Standing Up for Wisconsin (Senator Russ Feingold)

Daily Kos GOTV: Standing Up for Wisconsin

by Senator Russ Feingold

Election Day isn't until tomorrow, but I wanted to send you a thank you for the support you’ve already shown for me and my campaign. Your donations and volunteer hours have fueled our grassroots operation from day one, and I couldn’t be more proud of the campaign we’ve run.

If you're in Wisconsin, be sure to visit to VoteNowWisconsin.com to find your polling place and information about your rights, including how to register at the polls on Election Day.

We’ve just released our closing television ad: ‘Trust,’ which features some of the endorsements we have received from newspapers across the state.

<...>

I am proud that we have received endorsements of our campaign from the Oshkosh Northwestern, Appleton Post-Crescent, Manitowoc Herald Times Reporter, Sheboygan Press, Fond du Lac Reporter, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Milwaukee Courier, Kenosha News, Wisconsin State Journal, Monroe Times, The Capital Times, The Daily Cardinal, Wausau Daily Herald, Abbotsford Tribune-Phonograph, Stevens Point Journal, La Crosse Tribune, Chippewa Daily Herald, and the Green Bay Press-Gazette, which had never endorsed us before.

See a map of our newspaper endorsements across Wisconsin.

The political pundits have said that I am fighting for my political life, but they couldn’t be more wrong. This is a fight for Wisconsin and our future and people across Wisconsin have joined this fight because they understand the high stakes of this election.

We have more than 50 field offices across the state.

Yesterday alone, 2,500 volunteers knocked on over 100,000 doors and made over 150,000 phone calls.

Today we have more than 3,000 volunteer shifts scheduled.

Volunteers have knocked on about 300,000 doors in Wisconsin.

Volunteers have made 332,620 phone calls.

Combine those numbers with the fact that Wisconsin traditionally has one of the highest voter turnouts in the country and you can see that if we get our supporters to the polls we can win this fight.

more

Go Russ!

1. No comment? Why,
if Democrats have the advantage among registered voters, is it that a well-run campaign such as Feingold's, aided by Dems' GOTV efforts, isn't registering in the polls?

There are more registered Democrats.
