4. Definitely true, but I see a possibility to give the Repubs
enough rope to hang themselves with. With them holding on chamber, they won't be able to point to dems and claim all problems are our fault.

No, I'm not rooting for them in the least. It would be best for the country for the repubs to go down in flames.

5. Yes - we have already avoided the worse case scenario!
We keep the Senate and just maybe the House won't fall to the right as the MSM predicted --- though too early for that much optimism (yet).

The president has veto power over any new bill or any
changes to existing bills. So even if senate was 49:51
the republicans still can not overcome democratic agenda.

What the 52:48 senate will do is make filibuster easier.
