But there's a chance that the tea party comes out with more egg on their face than they anticipated.

I'll take whatever wins I can get at this point.

11. Isn't there more than one
write in candidate? Much as I don't like Murkowski, Miller would be a disaster.

14. I just want Miller to lose.
Murkowski and Palin can then get back to infighting and make the race even closer for a Dem next time.

23. I figured it out!
Edited on Wed Nov-03-10 01:32 AM by Ter
When you wrote that, it was 50,000 votes for write-in, 44,000 for Miller, and 31,000 for McAdams. It's late. :)

Edit, lol see you just edited it and figured it out! :D

24. My guess is that Miller wins.
When all the write in votes are counted, he'll have topped whoever receives the most write in votes. The fact it's only a five point difference bodes well for him because I doubt all 39% of those people voted for Lisa Murk8r7e3rref34ski.

25. Does it have to be spelled right to count for her?
If they spell it with a "y" at the end of her name instead of an "i", does it count? Second question: Should it count?

27. It's been reported that it counts as long as they can determine voter intent.

29. It was decided before election day that if the voter intent was clear, it would count.
Even "Lisa M" counts. Since they decided it before Election Day and not after they started opening ballots, I think it's a reasonable standard. (If there were another Lisa M in the race, it would be a different story. ;-))
