2. Most corporate Democrats just got wiped out because they
were in Republican leaning states in the first place. They got voted out because Democrats overstepped and went too far left. My Congressman Charlie Wilson was voted out because he voted for the HCR bill. The congressman in his neighboring district Zack Space was voted out because he voted for Cap and Trade. Alan Mulahan in WV lost the primary and even though Mike Oliverio ran about as far to right as Rand Paul we lost that seat. You can't keep control of the Congress by just electing people from the coasts. You have to get support from the midwest and south and the only way to do that is govern from the center. The same goes for the Teabaggers they will have to moderate their agenda to ever get real control.

4. Democrats are already center & HCR was a give-away
to the insurance and pharma companies. There was nothing "left" about that legislation.

5. HCR should have never been attempted in the middle of the
worst recession since 1929 in the first place. If Obama would have put all the stimulus in infrastructure or a WPA type jobs program instead of tax cuts and earmark projects maybe the unemployment wouldn't have gone over 8% like they claimed.

3. Obama and the democrats are already center
if anything the problem has been that they're not willing to fight for the more liberal agendas and try to come up with compromise positions instead
the result is they get half hearted support from the left and the same opposition from the right they'd get no matter what

6. Going further left is, stupid, naive, and political suicide
The Dems that lost, would never have been elected to begin with but for a similar wave against the GOP. Independents will want nothing of the kind. And how does going left fix the catastrophe that is Citizens United?
