1. Manchin is my senator
I voted for him and I'll do so again

People outside WV don't seem to understand that we are NOT a liberal state

Our Democrats have always been moderate to conservatives but they have still been Democrats

Liberals and progressives do not hold a monopoly on what it means to be a Democrat

13. Mine too.

WV has always been a socially conservative but not an economically conservative state like Manchin is pretending to be.

WV'ians may think they are conservative but they run to their congressmen when they don't get their checks. The Food Stamp program was piloted in WV and tons of people are on Social Security, Social Security Disability, SSI, work for the state or federal gov't.

Manchin in his campaign was only trying to reflect the current paradoxical state of politics in WV. A lot of older white people who are blue collar who think they are self made and frown on big government but who are probably sucking at the tit of gov't more than most people in any other state. People who may COMPLAIN about gov't spending but who in reality live in a state that benefits WAY more from gov't than they realize and whose tax to federal dollar coming in is very favorable.
