CQ Political Wire: Mike Pence to run for Indiana governor in 2012
Pence to Run for Indiana Governor

Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) will run for Indiana governor in 2012, WANE-TV reports, according to staffers for the congressman.

The Indianapolis Star notes Pence "declined to say what his plans are, but he has been talked about as a potential presidential and gubernatorial candidate."

1. Maybe he can be President and Governor of Indiana at the same time!

3. Well - at lest as recently as the 1970s, the Indiana legislature only met every other year
and Pence is for government doing as little as possible - so who knows. Not to mention - he won't win.

2. Pence vs. Bayh
Looks like it's a showdown between the idiocy of Pence and the namby-pambyness of Bayh for Indiana Governor 2012.

Wow, what a treat we Hoosiers will have to look forward to...

8. Daniels is term-limited
And yes, he's very popular. He's top tier for the GOP presidential nomination in 2012, I think.

Not that I like him. Just that i think he has the right mix--not a culture warrior, but still appeals to those folks. His no nonsense, tough management guy persona will be appealing inside the GOP.
