The president will address the Indian Parliament in few hours (7 am, ET), and thousands of Indians Politicians were denied invitation because of limited space. Those who will get in - were asked to behave and not jump on Obama to shake his hands etc. :)

2. Why, 'cause they want to shake Obama's hand?
Look, I know it's fashionable to hate the guy on DU, but that's just a bit much.

Crowds and pushing through to get to the front
That and the way people move through streets in both civilizations.

Driving in either country makes diving in New Jersey easy.

8. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

As if that's unique to them (both civilizations far older than us), let alone that your hypothesis makes no sense whatsoever. By your logic, Vatican City is the height of civilization.

Jesus Christ, DU is fucking stupid sometimes.

7. Sounds like you truly have some ill feelings about your recent trip to Asia
What is civilized? Have you been reading Malthus or Spengler?

13. Wow, what a bigoted post.
The 1800s called, they want their racist derision towards The East back.

4. Is it "normal" in Indian culture..
...to literally "jump" on someone who you wish to meat, or who's hand you want to shake?

14. No, the normal greeting in India is a 'namaste', done from a distance with folded hands...
...'jumping' on someone you would like to meet is usually what happens to rock stars, or those in equivalent celebrity status. Seeing movies of the way the youth of the 60s 'jumped' on the Beatles tells me it is a long-standing tradition in the West too (ref: the racist sub-thread above).
