If one were to view the DLC/Third-way/NDN corporeally, one could say that while it might not be dead, it is metastatically terminal...it's got too many fatal errors to not die. so it won't be Republican control but Money Inc control. The ownership class donates to both parties for a reason. Both parties are currying favor with the same people.

This why Liberals need to back down and let far centers do whatever needs to be done- b/c we are all progressives and we all share the exact same American Ideas, no matter what.
