2. Note that House districts will be redrawn by 2012...
which may or may not be to our advantage, depending on the state legislature's composition. Remember what Tom Delay & the Texas state legislature did 10 years ago?
4. I doubt it. To take the majority, Democrats will have to win back seats lost by DU's hated Blue Dogs
A fourth straight election with 20+ seats changing hands in the House would also be pretty spectacular.
Unfortunately I suspect that President will run far ahead of House Democrats in his reelection campaign. Not making a change at the top of the House leadership is going to be bad for candidate recruitment and electoral prospects next cycle.
but they probably will reduce the Republican majority by a great amount. Unfortunately, the Dems could lose the senate in 2012 if there are fewer teatards running.
Never in the country's history has any party lost 60+ seats and won the House and the following election lost at least 40+ and lost the House. With redistricting, it's all but impossible to lose before 2020.
Republicans picked up 55 seats and won the House in 1946, only to lose 75 seats and lose the House in 1948. I guess it's possible after all, my apologies!
