the donald (on cnbc) "seriously thinking about running for president"
donald trump was just on cnbc, saying he was seriously considering a run for the presidency.

if this should come to pass, this would be a joke candidacy, imho, but one capable of sucking away support for obama.
for those of you who follow lichtman's keys to the presidency, this would turn one towards the republicans.

3. Can't wait. Trump v. Palin in the primaries
Who would have thought that the path to the presidency was through reality TV? If you haven't seen "Idiocracy," go rent a copy.

7. That's cool.
Won't get my vote, but, in this country, almost anyone can run for president. If someone wants to run, let them. It's their right, and their choice.

13. The narcissism of the moneyed elite in our nation knows no bounds
They believe that because they are wealthy then they know everything, right. I mean they have the asset portfolio to prove it, don't they?

After the Revolution in 1776, the founding fathers could have easily sliced up the new territories into kingdoms. Instead, they forged a government based on a constitution, and not by the divine right of kings.

Today, the divine right of kings has returned to rule us through corporate power.

28. He can ask Meg Whitman how her campaign went
Ya know, the whole "I'm so rich I must be smart" attitude, staying away from the press and the "little people", having one's abuse of one's employees come to light, throwing oodles of money into a campaign only to lose to a 70-year-old has-been governor who barely campaigned - elitist privilege sure worked out well for her!

17. any 3rd player in the mix is bad for the incumbent.
or perhaps more accurately, any viable 3rd player in the mix is a sign that the incumbent is not in good shape for re-election.

25. it's not the ONLY factor. the incumbent party lost in 1992, and perot was a bigger factor then.
in 1996 clinton had many thing going for him as far as lichtman's keys go, including the economy, charisma, dole's lack of charisma, etc.

just need to get over their own egos. Donald Trump, no one wants to look at your hair for 4 years.

Not that I dislike Donald, but he is a showman with tremendous ego. It will play well on the teevee.
