About the House leadership vote, what were 43 Democrats thinking?

"In the race for minority leader Pelosi won 150-43, defeating her only challenger, moderate Heath Shuler."

This week the House voted on two bills, and both times Shuler was on the wrong side of the vote.

Unemployment benefits, roll call

Nays: Shuler

Vote to override the President's veto of the foreclosure bill, roll call

Yeas: Shuler

Seriously, this is the person 43 Democrats wanted to lead House Democrats?

2. That's likely, but

ironic. Shuler, who won by a thread, claims Democrats haven't learned anything by keeping Pelosi as leader. Yet it appears that after his blue dog caucus failed to support the Democratic agenda and suffering massive losses as a consequence, he's prepared to continue voting with Republicans.

3. One thing I didn't like about Saddam was he got all the votes.

She gave the blue dogs a Shellacking but all we hear about is how many voted against her.
