Why are the right wing so 'stunned' BO could "triangulate"?
Why did they think he was so "incapable"? Watching this clip of Morning Joe this morning says it all.

Did they REALLY believe all that bs about him being a "rigid FAAR left liberal" incapable of moving to the center?

1. Hard to answer your last question
Republicans will say anything to hurt the man they see as "that uppity n****r who stole the White House from us", so who knows *what* they actually believe?

6. exactly - the man's an organizer and a compromiser - that's what he did
It's hilarious when the right pegs him as a "socialist" just ridiculous.

7. And yet, they are.
Just as the right created a fantasy socialist-Kenyan-Muslim-big-spending-liberal-facist image, the left constructed a progressive-peacenicky-hope-wielding-liberal-Republican-Dragon-hunter image. Niether is real. But the progressive left, seeing tha their image of Obama is wrong, are the most enraged.

8. Yup...
David Brooks had a brilliant piece on the 'misunderstanding of Obama' in the NYT a while back.

11. THANK YOU!!!!
Also, it seems like a lot of people also weren't paying much attention to his 2004 DNC Keynote address and what he was trying to communicate. I wonder if a lot of people just thought that it sounded nice- like a typical political speech- but that he didn't really mean what he was saying?

9. Clinton never embraced supply side
Supply side IS the core of republican ideology.

In the land of the blind the one eyed man is king.

15. Listen to right wing talk radio for 5 minutes
These people think Obama is Stalin reincarnated and that we will become a totalitarian state if he is re-elected. Granted, there was a lot of the same hysteria about Bush from the left, too.
