It's like taking a poll.. who is going to win the SUPER BOWL?

Chances are people would be CLOSER to the right answer than this poll states.

5. This poll, as with all others, unless they support our point of view are not valid.
It has ever been so. Had this poll said the opposite, that most Americans blame political rhetoric for the AZ shooting you would see it being recommended from the rooftops here at DU.

Political rhetoric is no more to blame for this than heavy metal music is to blame for teen suicide or Taxi Driver is to blame for the Reagan assassination attempt.

Blame mental illness, untreated, unnoticed, ignored or whatever. Sooner or later something would have triggered this guy, and it may not have been a political figure he chose to shoot, but it would have been just as tragic.

As much as I'd LIKE to blame the right for their disgusting imagery and words, this isn't their fault.
