1. ABC has him at 54, CNN has him at 53. Even Rasmussen has him at 48. He obviously is on an upswing.

4. Obama gets 55%+ of the popular vote in 2012
That was my prediction after the 2008 election. I'm sticking with it.

6. Well, he got 53% in 2008
The economy should be doing better by then. He should improve on 2008.

9. Obama's approval ratings have gone up since he compromised with the Republicans.
Yet many at DU didn't want him to compromise. Remember that? It was just a few weeks ago. They wanted Obama to fight the Republicans and they opposed Obama's acquiescence to extending tax cuts for the rich. Yet if Obama had agreed with the naysayers at DU and had not compromised, his approval ratings would probably still be languishing where they were before the compromise.

And I'll bet you that if Obama tries to compromise again with the Republicans, those same people at DU will cry foul again. Yet if Obama wants to stay popular and get reelected, he must continue to compromise.

10. The fact that it's hit 50 twice in the span of two weeks is the real story...
.... a bump is a bump, it goes up then comes back down but when you have TWO bumps, well you have twins ... ha! no ...... I fully expected to go back down to the high 40s. We may be seeing the beginning of a trend.
