Candidate for NY governor wants to replace pledge of allegiance with lie detector test

Because of the massive corruption among NY state legislators, Howie Hawkins, Green Party's candidate for NY governor, suggested to start all legislative sessions with a lie detector test:
"Have you accepted any bribes today?"

Remember the right-wing argument, when Bush legalized spying on US-citizens: If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear.

Imagine weekly lie detector tests in Senate and Congress:
"Have you accepted any bribes or undeclared gifts this week?"
"Have you accepted any gifts or favors from people with immoral intentions?"
"Have you accepted any gifts or favors from people with undemocratic intentions?"
"Have any of your donors explicitly or implicitly asked you to put their interests above the interests of the american people?"

Lie detectors are NOT 100% accurate, but they sure would scare the shit out of some people.
