. . .lay off of Kucinich. Seriously, lay the fuck off of him.

He gets on my nerves when he crosses the line and makes dramatic statements like saying Obama needs to be impeached, but folks, as a Democratic party/progressive movement WE MUST STOP THESE MANIC MOOD SWINGS regarding our day-to-day opinions of our leaders. Politics, even within a particular ideology/party, has a lot of conflict, a lot of contradictions, a lot of "making up and breaking up" if you will.

It is so easy to get along when everyone agrees, it is also easy to fight when there is disagreement, but as we prepare for 2012 we as Democrats have to a much better job of maintaining our unity as a party, while having a vigorous debate about its future and the future of this country.

I am so sick and tired of making politicians/pundits and others heroes one day and villains the next.

When we disagree with or are mad at a particular member of our large and diverse Democratic/progressive community we need to do a better job of dealing with that issue and keeping it together.

I am absolutely more loyal to Obama than I am Kucinich, but some of the shit being thrown at Kucinich turns my stomach as much as the the shit thrown at Obama does.

1. Kucininch didn't say Obama needs to be impeached.
Just that the Libyan strike appears unconstitutional and that he could be impeached. I think he just wants to have an open debate and prefers actions that put US forces into armed conflict to go through Congress. He may have not used the most tactful approach, but he most certainly got the conversation moving on whether and how we should introduce forces into conflicts.

8. The first half of his comment lays out how illegal Obama's move was-lacking congressional approval.

The he tries to play around the issue by stating he's raising a question. But he's already suggested that it is an impeachable offense and even states on it's face it is one. And continues to talk about how proceedings for impeachment do not need to be made immediately. So there's enough in what he said to suggest he means impeachment of the President. And even if he never meant that---he never put out a post or a notice clarifying this point--which was in every newspaper everywhere. Every news paper which suggested that he said Obama should be impeached. Clarity would have helped a great deal, but he never bothered.

I won't doubt he wants to have an open debate. But invoking the word "impeachment" already in a political climate where the entire House of Repubs is seeking Obama to be taken out of office, you'd think he'd be a bit more careful in his choice of words. Especially when an impeachment in an already dangerous political climate is problematic. Rather than do that---he did mention impeachment, declared Obama's move illegal since he clearly stated that it's an impeachable offense.

He did get the conversation moving--which leans more in favor of Obama and resulted in great deal of backlash towards him.

2. Agreed!!- We have a terrible tendency to react in the extreme
and this, (imo) is a good example of it.

I have no problem with people having differences on policy issues or strongly held beliefs, but it seems to me, we should be able to do that without all the pile-on crude insults etc.

I think we show who we -as individuals- really are, by the way we react and respond to each other and to the issues which we hold especially dear. I've regretted more than a few statements I've made in anger or frustration.

DK has been pretty consistent with his stand against military action. I respect him for that. His recent statements discussing impeachment were poorly chosen, and poorly timed imo. I am disappointed in what he's said, and that it has been picked up by many on both sides as a way to divide us- and to destroy both men.

thanks for posting this wndycty.

3. It Looks Like Dennis Will Get Redistricted Out Of A Job In Congress.....
now I heard him on some radio program say that he is looking to find another district to run in and stay in Congress - but I'm thinking - might Dennis sacrifice himself for the Progressive Cause and primary Obama? It might be interesting to see Dennis try to pull Obama away from center right and more to the left. Any opinions out there?

5. Dennis is entitled to his opinion, but sending out a fundraising letter
based on his opposition to the President is over the line, imo. Eff him.

9. I never really liked DK.
But I have to say that I found some of the posts against him are more personality based versus action based.
