10. Yeah, my ex husband will so be glad to realize he isn't unemployed anymore!
Sorry, to crap on your numbers but I care more about people than numbers. I know Wall Street LOVES numbers but they are generally evil, scum sucking vermin from He'll, so I take their happiness with a large grain of salt.

13. I am unemployed....
but happy as hell that people are getting back to work....numbers don't lie....are you saying the economy will only be considered good when your husband is back at work? That's a very selfish way at looking at things.

18. Not just him and he's my ex husband so it doesn't effect my bottom line at all
except for the couple of hundred dollars I send when I can. I'm saying that we need people at work, not happy numbers for selfish Wall Street boobs. There's selfishness out there, but it isn't mine.

7. Hey, psssssst, you forgot the last paragraph
"Fewer employers are hiring than a month ago, according to the Rasmussen employment index, which fell to a seven-month low. The percentage of workers who say their employer is hiring fell to 18% from 20%, while the percentage who say their employer is laying off workers rose to 25% from 22%. Twenty-nine percent of workers are worried about losing their job, up two percentage points."

17. If the Bush tax cuts do not go away, the economy collapses again
The economy is barely held together with bailing wire and duct tape.

19. I had 2 big reasons for voting for Obama.

First was he didn't grow up rich and had not really been wealthy that long meaning he remembered what it was like to be middle class.

Second he said he would get us out of the wars.

In the primary I saw Hillary as older, former republican, more of the cold war hawkish mindset, more happy rubbing elbows with the wealthy.

The jury on Obama is still out for me, I'm giving him a chance but at this point I'm really let down with him.

I just don't see that he's done shit for the middle class. The Health Care bill had potential but most of the good stuff is pushed so far into the future that so few people feel the positive from it that it won't help the dems at all and may even wind up being reversed.

We are still in Iraq.

He's hands off with the war on gov't workers but passionate about going into Libya?

He extended the Bush tax cuts.

He's all about charter schools and sticking the blame on teachers for poor school performance. However everything I read seems to indicate cutting class size increases student performance yet he never offers this as a solution only punishing teachers.

I disagreed with a LOT of what Clinton did in office but honestly I thought the man did way more for the middle class, he was hands on on legislation and he was actually way better at communicating witht he public than Obama has been.

I'm PRAYING Obama gets it together but at this point his whole presidency reminds me of a student who waits till the last minute to turn in a project and then tries to bullshit his way thru it rather than put forth any effort.

21. The OP stated the economy as a whole is getting much better.
The numbers are there to see. It doesn't mean everyone has a job, it doesn't mean everyone's mental and physical pain has been healed or ever will be. It means that more people found a job than lost one. It means that from select indicators the economy appears to be improving.
