A Great Day for Islam
By Jeffrey Goldberg

May 2 2011, 12:36 AM ET

A terrible man who has brought much of the world to question the core beliefs of a great religion, and a man who is responsible for the cruel deaths of millions of innocent and devout Muslims, is dead. Bin Laden's death might represent an exit strategy for the U.S. from Afghanistan; it might represent an exit strategy from the War on Terror, and it just might represent an exit strategy for Islam, a means to leave the cul-de-sac down which Bin Laden was trying to drive his religion.
