...no matter what he does.
Still, I really think it is a mistake not releasing the photos. I bet if you took a poll of Americans, even the world, most people would want to see them. I may be wrong, but I think seeing the dead Bin Laden would bring more closure than cause incitement.
I don't care that much either way, and I think Obama did a great job getting rid of UBL - but come on, this is the information age, holding out on releasing these sorts of photos just makes it look like they are hiding something. And I have to say, while the operation and the order to conduct this style of raid were bold and impressive, the changing stories about what happened is kinda taking a little bit away from this great success. Again, I could be wrong, but I think it would have been better to release the photos and make sure they really knew what happened before releasing information about the raid.
Just imagine if Bush had launched an operation to kill Bin Laden, went on TV and said we got him and then we find out he dumped the body in the ocean and won't release any photos? I mean, I honestly think DU would be highly skeptical don't you? It is only natural some on the other side will be suspicious as well.
Personally I don't think the Obama administration wanted him alive and wanted the body only to make a positive ID. I have no problem with that. I applaud that actually. I just wish they'd be a little more straight forward about it what really happened during the raid and let us see the pictures so people can get their own final closure on the whole thing.
