more proof it's Bin Laden
Pakistani officials have all the survivors, including at least one wife, in custody

If it was not him, they would be telling them, "hey, don't know what you are talking about. He was not
Osama, his name is Mr. X."

And, the Pakistani's, wanting to save face for the criticism that they didn't help get OBL, would be
shouting it from the rooftops. "Not the right man."

1. I don't think that rises to the level of "proof."
Edited on Fri May-06-11 08:04 AM by Buzz Clik
If bin Laden had managed to become mayor of Islamabad under an assumed identity with the Pakistanis' help, the Pakistanis would rather we think he's dead. The burden on the family will be far less when the world becomes convinced he is dead.

4. Not saying it's true or plausible. Just a scenario.

6. I hear you. think I am just one of those people who want to
know absolutely, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that it was him. I do understand and agree with
O's decision not to release the pics, and I believe him, of course. It is just that tiny,
tiny microscopic piece of me that wants to see the proof positive.

11. that's what's bad....probably the pics or video. But, that's why I
still think they should open up the pics BUT only to a select group - like house and senate leaders -
maybe newspaper editors - or some independent forensic experts. I don't know who - just maybe
an expanded group other than who has seen them already - but with no cameras, cell phones, etc....in
a controlled environment where nothing could be replicated. At least that would help, in lieu of me seeing them.

but, I suppose I will have to go against my nature and believe something on faith alone. It's a hell
of a lot easier than if it had been DimSon saying it.

12. cool. I used to live in Alabama so the pic hit me
immediately. I remember many years ago, my office held it's Christmas party at a house
way out in the sticks where people were redneck and racist. In fact the clan was still
seen openly. One of the guys in our office is black and was late to the party. Everyone
was so worried about him. He finally showed up. He had been lost. And his story
was hysterical. He stopped at a gas station, put on a phony thick southern accent and
asked for directions. He then said, "Too bad Bear died."

maybe you had to be there. :>)
