Bush's 'mission accomplished' was on May 1, 2003. President Obama's announcement of Osama Bin Ladin's death was on May 1, 2011. It took 8 years and another President to get Osama.

That these are the things we have to embrace and be most proud of. But I agree, when I try to find good things to say about Obama, I usually go straight to the "Well I'm glad we don't have to listen to that hick and his disgusting swagger, at least." See the "at least" is the part that is important.

I'd like to say "Man I'm glad Obama got us out of those quagmires in Afghanistan and Iraq, and shut down Guantanamo," or "I'm glad we've got single-payer," or well, any number of other things I would be far more proud of than the first.

And yea, I know he might not have achieved these things, or he might not get reelected, but it would've been nice if he'd been loudly and with verve, pushing these things, rather than being silent about it.
