Obama should go public with the hostage situation
I think President Obama should go on TV and say the GOP is taking the country hostage, insisting on very harmful policies and threatening an economic nightmare if they don't get there way. He needs to take over the conversation.

Krugman is right. Stand up and fight back. We need to be very aggressive with the narrative on this and use worlds like "hostage taking" and "extortion".

1. And given the MSM's corporate fawning, only the Prez can do it.
He can get the media time, coverage, and attention that others cannot.

6. That didn't work for Clinton, did it?
Edited on Mon May-16-11 02:49 PM by MannyGoldstein
Oh wait, it worked perfectly for Clinton and destroyed Newt Gingrich. Never mind.

Maybe Obama's getting just what he wants?

9. Newt Gingrich destroyed Newt Gingrich.
The Rs kept control of the House for several elections after the shutdowns in the 90s.
