Former Utah governor picks Florida for campaign headquarters

(Reuters) - Former Republican Utah governor Jon Huntsman has picked Orlando, Florida, for his 2012 presidential campaign headquarters should he decide to run, a campaign official and media reports said on Wednesday.

Huntsman, 41, resigned as governor in 2009 after President Barack Obama appointed him as ambassador to China.

Huntsman returned to the United States earlier this month and, within days, created a federal political action committee to raise money for staff and travel ahead of an expected decision to seek the Republican presidential nomination.

His choice of Orlando underscores Florida's role as a key battleground state.
