So, Today I Got A Christmas Card From The Obamas... I'm NOT In A Good Mood...
So, I asked my husband if I should send it back! He just said they would ignore it, then I said it wouldn't make ME look very good, because I don't really want to get down to that level!

But it was a thought I had, and I'm truly sorry it was my first thought! Yes, I feel bad about thinking that way, but I'm really fed up!

Anyone else think the same way! I'll keep it, but I WAS TEMPTED... may God strike me down! Oh, I forgot... like Julia Sweeney, I think having been brought up as a strict Catholic, I'm with her... Letting Go Of God!

Now, that was an interesting piece of work! LOVED IT!

3. You need to chill a bit.
I suggest making yourself a strong cup of holiday cheer...or laying off the holiday cheer for the rest of the day, whatever fits your situation.

:)

7. That Was Cute... No Holiday Cheer To Drink... Don't Really Drink Much!
I have other vices! Guess I could go find a can of beer somewhere though!

5. My wife got the card yesterday, also. But, I was the one who worked his campaign. Naughty list?
Or, maybe when they have both names they send it out to the woman of the house? Anyone know?

6. do what makes you feel the most appropriate

I had many Obama t-shirts from donating to his campaign - I thought they were cool

One by one they have found their way to the round file - they served a need to vent. (I remember one was after Obama invited Rick Warren to speak at the inauguration.)

In any event, do what feels right. I am glad I did what I did, when I did. Life is too short not to express yourself.

8. That Too Is Good Advice! I BOUGHT Lots & Lots Of Obama Memorabilia
before and after he became POTUS! However, I gave it to my kids because I'm sure "someday" the stuff I bought WILL ACTUALLY be worth something! For better or worse! I spent a lot of money... shirts, posters, coins... the whole ball of wax!

I think perhaps it was a mistake to post this, I can see I'm going to be getting some snarky remarks. Didn't mean to rile anyone up. My BAD!

10. No snark from me, but I would keep the card and pass it down to
your kids with the other stuff. Now, if I had gotten a card from Bushie, I most certainly would have thrown it in the trash.

12. you could simply banish the card for a year

put a note 'open December 2010' on it and bury it in your xmas stuff so you find it next year and see how you feel then. I think people should voice their feelings, or we'd all be run over by the Liebermans of the world. Someone taught me long ago to express one's feelings as close to the time you feel them as possible. Only you can decide that but it sounds like you might have some good ideas. Good luck and admire those snarky comments as others also expressing themselves - they don't know you personally and it shouldn't get under your skin! Happy card day!

... I just remember what things were like under Bush and Cheney. Then, the halo appears over Obama's head!

11. That doesn't work for me because NOTHING is better for our troops. NOTHING!
Yet, only those of us who have friends and family assigned over in the ME truly GIVE A DAMN.

It's immoral and illegal to continue these occupations, yet nobody cares because it's the THROW AWAY 1% of people who are sent to kill and die for Corporate Empire.

It's just as bad under President Obama. Don't kid yourselves.

19. My son in law got back from Afghanistan in April
It was his second tour of duty. The first was in Iraq. And, I agree wholeheartedly. We have no business being in Afghanistan or Iraq. The outcome will be the same whether we are there or not. As soon as we leave, it will return to the same place it has been for 3000 years. We will get to pay for it for 20 years and by the time it is paid for, it will once again return to anarchy.

13. I threw out some of my campaign memorabilia the other day.
Some small posters, hand-outs, that sort of thing I had kept.

They turned up in a pile of stuff and I tossed them in the trash.

It felt horrible, but I was angry.

15. See, That's The Feeling I'm Talking About... You Kind Of Feel Like You're
abandoning your kid or something! Maybe kid is the incorrect word, maybe I should say kicking your sister or brother in the gut... something like that! You don't want to "feel" this way. You're upset, but don't want to do any REAL HARM, just that "little thing" that says "there, take that!" And it really doesn't amount to a pile of warm dukey!

I don't know, guess I may just say it... I'm talking out the back end of my donkey!

20. I understand. It's like a death in the family.
Call it the death of a dream, or of hope, or whatever you want to call it.

I'm abject over it, deeply sad and deeply angry.

18. Don't Push The Envelope Here... No Money For Sure, But Got Your Point!
I knew this was going to happen! Just thinking out loud, kind of like kicking a stool, or slamming a door!
