Politico: The Huntsman turnout
The Huntsman turnout
By MAGGIE HABERMAN

10:16 AM EDT

There are about a hundred people on hand at Liberty State Park for Jon Huntsman's announcement, a number of whom in quick interviews said they came up from Washington, or are college Republicans who joined the crowd.

Huntsman took the stage after another web video, extolling his preference for a "greasy spoon" over linen and praising someone who doesn't "flip" or "flop."

Midway through the speech, where the temperatures have cooled from the clouds, the energy level is medium.

According to readers watching the announcement on TV, the Statue of Liberty - the reason for the declaration site - isn't in the background on the small screen shots.

And Fox News became the first to cut away from Huntsman, midway through his speech.

1. Yikes! When Fox is first to cut away from a GOP event, that
can't be good.

2. Huntsman is not Fox's candidate. and it has shown over the
past few weeks. He is only mentioned on that Network
when it cannot be avoided.

4. Which is why he will never be the candidate
whoever ends up getting the most coverage on FOX is who will end up being the candidate. That's my guess anyway. That person will receive endless free publicity in the form of interviews and panel discussions.

3. Huntsman reminds me of a poor man's Mitt Romney that wishes he were a Republican Howard Dean.

5. A whole 100? I'm surprised Fox could count that high.

6. They also spelled his name wrong in the campaign press release...
off to a rip-roaring start.
