4. Yeah, but tomorrow
he'll ask if Bachmann can beat the President, and drive everyone crazy again.

;-)

7. I, for one, like how Tweety is puffing Bachmann up. Obama will absolutely destroy her.
If Tweety gets his wish, and Bachmann is the nominee, we are virtually guaranteed majorities in Congress.

11. He's doing exactly what I want him to do, too. I want Bachmann to be the GOP nominee so bad.
For the reasons you mentioned, of course.

Plus, I'm thinking of writing a book on Bachmannisms and I'm only about one-third of the way to a hundred pages.. ;)

9. IMHO, Tweety is a loudmouth, lazy pretense for a political
commentator who spends most of his time spewing meaningless drivel and/or overtalking his guests. His leanings are as unpredictable as he is - today Bush gives him a 'thrill down the leg', tomorrow 'Barry is giving them hell'. Shallow, ill-prepared and irritating.

10. When did Matthews ever say "Bush gives him a 'thrill down the leg'"?
Edited on Thu Jun-30-11 12:20 PM by ClarkUSA
Just curious.

BTW, you do know that he was Jimmy Carter's chief speechwriter in his day and still enjoys a cordial relationship with his old boss?

12. No, it's true, he said it.
I can't remember what staged, media moment it was ("Mission Accomplished" pr stunt maybe??) but he definitely said it. Perhaps another DUer may remember more specifics.

I do know of his past connection to Dems (he also worked for Tip O'Neil) and I like the book he wrote before he became a famous talking head ("Hardball") but now, he's somewhat unpredictable. As prone to infatuation with media personalities as the rest of them are.

13. The thrill down his leg comment
was directed toward Obama when he was running for president.

He did have a man-crush moment with Bush when he landed on the aircraft carrier that was particularly nauseating, but I can't remember what he said anymore. It was one of those swear at the TV moments.

Yes, Matthews is very unpredictable. I can't figure out how he's lasted on TV for so long.

14. And Pat Caddell was Jimmy Carter's pollster back in the day
Doesn't mean he hasn't subsequently turned into a huge dick.
