1. MSNBC: This is not a positive development. Stern words will be coming from POTUS. Major stall in
talks. Divide is significant.

4. Boner now breaking off talks with Obama. Turning back to talks on the hill. Sent letter to congress
in both parties and said he's done dealing with POTUS and WH. Gang of six deal apparently pushed Boner off the rails.

6. Grover/Koch Bros/Tealiban must have threatened him. Far be it for Orange Man
to act/think for himself without his babysitters.

8. Okay. Obama really has this, if he will take it.
Lay out in a press conference exactly what he was offering and exactly what the republicans refused. Tell the public to get ready for some hurting and make no bones about whose fault it is. Tell them the problem is that the republicans are held hostage by a small group that doesn't care how many children and poor and elderly are hurt, how much money they cost the middle class. All they care about is protecting the very rich. Make that explicit. Not candy language. No obtuse analogies. Say it. Explain what he debt ceiling is, that it is just paying for what the congress already said it would pay for.

Then say that since the republicans kept backing off from their deals, he is withdrawing his. No presidential signature if it involves SS or Medicare. No agreement unless rich tax cuts are eliminated.

Even gomer norquist is quaking over what will happen to the rich. This stupid thing will cause pain to the people but it is so bad that even Wall Street and the coupon clippers will feel it.

Settle only for an up and down vote on extending the debt ceiling to cover all budget costs for the next four years. No add ons. No amendments.
