I will not sit any election out.
However, my door to door days for Obama aren't looking good.
Obama has created a bubble wrap insulation from Progresive voices.

But I will not sit by and let the a loony tea party freakshow or right wing fundamentalist turn the USA into a theocracy.

1. Thank you. That's all we can ask. At this point I'm still for Obama,
but if that were to change, I'd be voting solely against the GOP, too.

3. The absolute reality is that the next president will either be Obama or the Republican candidate.
That's it.

If you do not really like either one, then you choose the one that is not out to crush you at every turn. It is still a choice, and an intelligent one.

14. That's just wrong. There would still be a great deal of difference.
Take it from someone who lives in Wisconsin and knows what it is like to live in a place where the Republicans control everything: the governorship, both houses of the legislature, and the supreme court.

Obama has offered cuts in SS and Medicare, which goes without saying is bad, but the Republicans would love to do away with them altogether. To say there is no difference between Obama and the Republicans is just plain wrong.

5. Same here.
No money from me.
No door to door for me.
No phone banking for me.
Not even bothering to get my blood pressure up and argue with people who bash Obama (he's already done enough damage to my blood pressure with his own actions and words).

He'll get my vote because I've never sat out a single election in 25 years of voting, and because I would never actually vote for a Republican let alone any of the loons that are on the current list of nominees.

I'm sure he's not shedding a tear or missing my efforts or my money. I'm sure his crack band of poll watchers and advisers have already informed him of the statistical likelihood of needing my efforts any more and the vast amount of political riches he'll gain by insulting me and blaming me and people who believe what I believe just as much for our current woes as his "friends across the aisle" who apparently "love their country and want what's best for it."

Good luck to him.

6. Well good.
Why would you do anything or fail to do anything that could let Republicans back in? Isn't the current debacle enough? If you think your door to door contribution is so important, why would you sit back and let Republicans be the only ones at those doors?

:banghead: I just don't understand progressives. They do not seem to get the concept of progress! And would rather let Republicans win than admit they are wrong to be so demanding in this political climate.

13. The problem is that Obama is contributing to that debacle
and in some cases increasing it.

I will ask the same question over again. How many right wing advisers does Obama listen to? How many on the left wing? How many times has he called the right wingers loon, and how many times has he put down the left wingers? He has kept so many of Bush appointees that it is embarrassing to call him a dem.

He HAD a mandate when he was first elected. He HAD the momentum. He HAD the press behind him. He could have started the country turning left, instead he kept on the same road and it has been turning more right with every day that passes.

Really, you want people who worked their asses off to get him elected, to do it again, so they can again get fucked over? How in the hell do you convey that you are not happy with your rep, when you work for him to get elected AGAIN. Nothing is getting through to Obama, nothing. He starts every negotiation to the right of what the repubs or business wants. Tell me, some one, how is that helpful to this country? Tell me, some one, how has he earned the PEACE prize? Tell me, some one, how it's wrong when a repub does it, but okay when Obama does it?

16. I am so damn disappointed in Obama. We are stuck between a rock and
a hard place. I want to sit it out so bad to stick it to Obama but I sure don't want republicans back in power. They are already doing everything they can to disenfranchise people. Please democrats we must vote even if we have to hold our noses.

We have to think in terms of strategic wins, such as getting more Democrats elected in Congress. Keeping a Democratic President to nominate liberals to the Supreme Court. Doing what we can to win each battle as it comes along.

Your vote will help this country immensely.
