I did what the President wanted!
Sort of.

I contacted both Colorado Senators; Diana DeGette, who has a leadership position in the House; and the White House urging them to back down from the "Grand Bargain" and instead adopt the Progressive Caucus' People's Budget--changing the name if it makes people more comfortable. I personally don't care, and I don't care who gets credit. There's one proposal out there that will eliminate the deficit and that's Congressman Grijalva and the Progressive Caucus' People's Budget.

Remember to do what the President asks!

Contact Congress (and the White House) and tell them that the choices in the False Dilemma put forward by the President are not necessary.

5. i sent a personally-written message through FB Left Action
i asked my reps (Speier, Boxer, Feinstein) to raise the debt ceiling without preconditions, to expand social programs in order to take care of our people and to deal with spending by long term appropriate levels of taxation and ending of wars and scaling back our defense to levels appropriate to the threats we likely face (far smaller).
