Is this "Drama" from the Republican side all part of the plan?
I think that they are running the clock because their plan, and I suppose that Democrats would fear, is that if Democrats don't vote for their plan, that Democrats will be left holding the bag (because Republicans will claim that they sent bills to raise the debt ceiling and Democrats didn't vote for them), and will be blamed for any default all the way to election day. They are running the clock to make it impossible to create a compromise bill, thus shoving it down the throats of Senate Democrats and Obama by forcing them to vote on their bill in order to avoid a default.

2. Doubt it. Might have been true in the past,
but it really appears they don't have the control over their caucus they've had in the past. Teabuggers have really turned the tables on repugs.

5. I don't see how it isn't stone cold obvious ...
This is a party for that over a decade now, has been more uniform and compliant than any in our history. The whole power of the republicans comes from their complete unanimity.

What we are seeing now is the complete opposite of what we have seen from them since the early 90s. And, somehow people want to think this is a "plan?" It is the complete antithesis of what they are.

Fact is, about 25% of their caucus WANTS the US to default and at leats 26% of their caucus is scared of being primaried and won't go out on a ledge that the lunatic 25% is unwilling to go on ...

3. The House is going to have a symbolic vote .... so that later
when the debt ceiling gets raised, they can go home and say "hey look, I voted for the BBA and all that other tea bag stuff, but we couldn't get it through the Senate."

4. Would that Obama displayed more drama!
He could kick serious Boehner/Cantor/McConnell ass if he'd just step up to the plate!
