I'm convinced the Dems' Healthcare is comparable to the Repubs' Abortion. Sure, Congress will give bucketloads of money to for-profit insurance companies with some legislation or another, but they'll continue to dangle that affordable healthcare carrot to us yet never deliver. And they'll blame the Repubs for not delivering the way the Repubs blame the Dems for not outlawing abortion.
I want to hope. I like to be silly and happy. My favorite word is delight. However, when it comes to government, I have a hard time lying to myself. The glass isn't half full. It's more than half empty. Government has got men with guns and pro-liberal media blackouts and endless propaganda and lies--and always a fresh new generation of Americans to brainwash and recruit. And so I get snarky and cynical.
We don't matter. Why does the Senate hate America?
I can't get those statements out of my head.
They promise hope, we get hopiness. They promise change, we get changiness. They promise peace, we get war. They promise healthcare, they snatch that carrot away.
I'm so tired of the spin for the Senate's actions--the personality politics, ideology blather, the "doesn't get it," the "no political will," and all the other diversion-speak and euphemisms. I want to enjoy my time left on this planet before my job is offshored and I have no money, before I get too sick to recover without medical help, before my anger turns to utter despair.
Maybe I'll become a Cheney Republican and shoot a friend in the face. Those folks are never disappointed.
