What's really fascinating about his post is the complete lack of analysis of the deal. Krugman needs to tell us what's funny and why the deal is a "catastrophe" as he stated in his recent column.

From the second section, "Enforcement protects Social Security, Medicare beneficiaries, and low-income programs from any cuts."

The final sentence of the fact sheet, "The enforcement mechanism in the deal exempts Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare benefits, unemployment insurance, programs for low-income families, and civilian and military retirement."

Isn't that a huge part of what we wanted?
