Wall Street Journal praises debt deal. "No wonder liberals are howling"
Editorial in Rupert Murdoch's Wall Street Journal in reaction to the recent debt deal:

"This is no small achievement considering that Republicans control neither the Senate nor the White House, and it underscores how much the GOP victory in November has reshaped the U.S. fiscal debate.

No wonder liberals are howling. They have come to believe in the upward spending ratchet, under which all spending increases are permanent. Not any more."

The paper goes on to call it a victory fo the Tea Party:

Tea partiers will do more for their cause by applauding this victory and working toward the next, rather than diminishing what they've accomplished because it didn't solve every fiscal problem in one impossible swoop.

11. We always owned *'s debt.
That's the import of the 14th Amendment, after all.

We also own Obama's debt. Again, the ol' 14th.

3. Putting on a bold face, and whistling past the graveyard.
Bet you Boehner, Cantor, and McConnell are saying something quite different in private.

4. We'll see what they say when Tea Baggers vote for a tax increase in December
rather than see defense and pet projects cut.

10. They're shit-stirring like they like to do. The Street doesn't want another market crash, however.

As if preserving Pell Grants and protecting SS and Medicare benefits from being cut aren't liberal policy victories for this President. :eyes:

The NYT had a front-page story on how Wall Streeters were panicking and calling on recalcitrant Republicans to compromise with the WH. I notice Rupert's rag doesn't mention that little fact.
