If the Democrats "negotiated with terrorists"...
...then why did 95 Democrats support the bill in the House? They should've made sure that the bill was narrowly passed to show disapproval of the tactics.

2. Simple, because it was a pretty good bill under the circumstances. Republicans were spanked on this
And for the people who thought it should have included revenue... let's stick to what was actually doable.

Now if we were willing to go into default, fine, ask for the impossible.

Where we want to avoid default and move on, to fight the rest of the battles on OUR terms, this was the way to go.
