It's not like progressives 'got what they wanted'.

Teabaggers are congenital whiners ... but in the real world of politics where perception is reality, this 'deal' is a victory for Teabaggers and Repuglicans.

The only thing we actually don't know is whether or not Pres. Obama got what he wanted ... what he says and what he accepts are at such odds much of the time. So, he may not be all that bothered by the fact that revenues are not part of this 'deal'.

But to try and spin that somehow this 'deal' is a triumph for Democrats and liberals and progressives and working Americans -- that's crazy.

If spin is reality, then there is a contradiction in your post.

Or do you mean that only Republicans are allowed to spin?

I agree the deal is not a triumph for Dems. I also don't think it is a "triumph" for Boehner/McConnell/teabaggers either. No benefit cuts to safety net for one thing. Not even in the trigger.
