Why should I vote against the Tea Party next year?
Edited on Thu Aug-04-11 01:42 PM by denem
Obama has caved in on 1,2,3,4 and I know he will cave of W,X,Y,Z.

Most Democrats have an idea how low their President will go. What they don't know is what's coming out of far right field.

Why should I vote for Gore? A: Because a "No Nation Building" President Bush will declare war on Iraq. Right field.

We got a view of the Tea Party last week. Starve the Beast by defaulting on the national debt. Never mind the cuts - Default! doom a generation of to higher interest rates, permanently higher gas prices, a Chinese reserve currency. Not even the incredible financial weight of the GOP's traditional backers could outweigh the 'Buckets of Crazy"

A default was "unthinkable". In the Tea Party lexicon that meant a handy iceberg - sink the Federal ship and head to the life boats. What life boats? How about a nice war with Iran on the side

I am very pessimistic about rolling back the Oligarchy even slightly, especially after Citizens United. I feel Obama is the wrong president for this time, but I am sure we have very little idea about "unknown unknowns" from the Far Right field.

Spin the bottle and find out how fast the Tea Party can crash the plane?

This IS worth voting against.

1. because you haven't gone to the dark side?
TP's are scary, they may crash and burn but not fast enough. I htink if they get in it will give them too much time to "austere" many of us right out of existence.

2. Obama has not "caved" anymore than Clinton and Presidents from all parties up and down our history.
That is just a crazy statement. We've gotten the largest amount progressive legislation since LBJ (who also gave us Vietnam).

Clinton compromised and compromised with Gingrich and the R's and signed everying progressive hate from NAFTA to WORKfare.

So enought of this nonsense about "caving." He has to work with what he has to work with. He's the President of the entire country, not just DU members. Too many Dems didn't even bother to vote in 2010. Many of those close elections could have been won if they had done so. Not happy? Then get active and elect more Democrats.

4. +1,000,000,000
I could not agree more, especially about the fact that we could have avoided this mess if people would have gotten out to vote instead of sitting on their butts at home complaining over the internet about how "terrible" a job president Obama was doing. The right wing was happy as hell that so many on the left listened to their BS right wing talking points and didn't bother to vote!

It's like so many in congress right how are mad at the president because he didn't end the Bush tax cuts. Well how many of them had fought last year to NOT bring that issue up because they didn't want to address it for fear the republicans would use it against them in the elections? Those who did have no room to talk when it comes to NOT ending those tax cuts when they had the chance, and control of the house!

9. I'm not sure how to take this question.
Are you being rhetorical, a village idiot, or attempting psychology to get others to think it through?

10. unless the "Tea Party" is on the ballot separate from R's, there is no tea party
but in any case, one would have to be batshit crazy to vote for any of those fuckers.
