7. Here is what CNN says about the Manager's amendment
"Part 1: 'Manager's amendment'
This is the part of the bill that includes all the last minute fixes, most importantly stripping the public option and probably including suitable abortion language — assuming Democrats can reach an agreement on the issue."

5. And they complain about having to work the week-end.
It's their filibuster of the Defense Bill and stalling tactics on HCR that made it necessary.

4. They dropped the ratio of premiums to profit margin to 80 / 20.
and there is language to dissuade any state from trying to make their own restrictions.

Of course, they could make it 99 / 1 and it still won't contain costs.

8. Now discussing an "effective" appeal process
for denial of service. Says it should be "effective" and that there will be external review, unless there is already a state external review of such appeal processes.

Most states already have this. But now the insurance company can locate to a state or states where the review process is weak, and then do business in the state where the review process is strong.

Now talking about ER room services (usually billed completely separately from the hospital). Not sure what the modification is.

9. Now describing a requirement for "direct access" to OBGYNs.
This is a good thing, you won't have to go to a GP first for OBGYN services, you can go directly to a "in network" OBGYN.

I think the previous stuff for pediatricians was the same.

Too many "strike this, change that" to follow this carefully.

And she is reading faster now.

10. States can "opt out of abortion services offered by insurance companies."

11. Can't use advance payments (any portion) for abortion services.
Now saying that separate PAYMENTS have to be made to cover the portion of your policy that covers abortion.
