Obama smacks Teahobbits using McCain's 2008 campaign slogan

by Geekesque

It's overdue, and only a start, but President Obama has finally decided to do some truthtelling about the Teahadists and their behavior in Congress. Even better, he's doing so as a larger push to push efforts to boost job creation.

Obama to GOP: Put country before party

He listed a series of proposals he's already offered, from a payroll tax extension to trade bills to an infrastructure bank, things "we can do right now that will put more money in your pockets, will help businesses sell more products around the world, will put people to work in Michigan and across the country."

"The only thing preventing these bills from being passed is the refusal of some folks in Congress to put country ahead of party," he said.

Some in Congress, Obama continued, "would rather see their opponents lose than see America win, and that has to stop."

Very shrill. Almost partisan. Though he still doesn't say 'Republican' we know who he means.

Country first, assholes.

17. How about "Republican extremists"
In fact, never say the word "Republican" without following up with "extremists." Because that's what they are.

Republicans have won more than Democrats on a national level since Nixon by making us seem unacceptable. Why not return the favor, especially when, policy-wise, most Americans actually do find them to be unacceptable?

Wait, I know why, because we just assume people will figure it out and we're afraid of hurting anyone's feelings.

7. Yeah,
he really needs to spell out who "would rather see their opponents lose than see America win" for people.

No one has a clue!

4. He should use the word Republican, at the very least
Otherwise it's very easy to interpret that as "both parties in Congress are equally guilty"

8. Really?
"both parties in Congress are equally guilty"

Who thinks that both parties are "equally guilty of wanting to their opponents to lose at the expense of America?

Here is a perfectly good hit at Republicans, being nitpicked to death with nonsense.

12. Nitpicked? The very basic omission of the word Republican?
You've outdone yourself in intentional obliqueness.

13. Hmmm?
"The very basic omission of the word Republican?"

Leaves you with the impression that he meant both parties are "equally guilty" of wanting to their opponents to lose at the expense of America?

Really?

20. Your exactly right.
Fox viewers would never think that both parties are equally guilty, would they? How about Rush listeners?

I agree with you that none of these people would associate all of the blame on the Democrats and none on the Republicans or Tea Party.

How absurd!
