again here on the DU once one of these idiots are picked to run against him.

It might be "hold your nose and vote" for many here, but there is no doubt Obama 1000 times better than any of these fools.

Motivation come in many forms, this time it might be the GOP presidential contender!

1. Crackpots and a couple of used car salesmen (Romney and Pawlenty). Romney is their only viable
candidate. Nasty Newt, crazy Michelle, hateful Herman, ...

Huntsman is the only reasonable human being on the stage.

2. Good analysis. Romney and Huntsman are only sane ones there. And Romney...

9. Romney isn't viable to the Republicans.
To them, he's a lunatic morally degenerate cultist.

11. Huntsman's a Mormon as well.
But from what I remember about his campaign launch, he might have an endurance/stamina issue to offset his marketability.

8. If it's Bachmann, the Dominionists will take over the GOP
Goldwater lost big in 1964 -- but his candidacy was the wedge that enabled the movement conservatives to start taking over the party.

A Bachmann or Perry candidacy would be the same, but for the extreme religious right. They would take over the party apparatus, get their positions enshrined as the party platform, and gain a permanent lock on the GOP.

They might fatally cripple the party in the process -- but as long as we have a two-party system, it would also cripple our democracy. I'd frankly rather see people with some shred of sanity retain control of the GOP, even if that makes things harder for Democrats in the short run.

7. I've been one of those disgusted with Obama but you are quite right
Though I have to say that I'm not motivated to work for him or donate in 2012.

12. that would make you not motivated to work and donate to save yourself.....
Edited on Fri Aug-12-11 02:29 AM by FrenchieCat
and to help save some of the things that you care so deeply about, to the point of where you are pissed at Obama for not making it all better.

At the end of the day, elections have consequences, and those who are left to suffer aren't the politicians.

So you can tie your hands behind your back.....in order to help get hit in the stomach,
just as long as, if we end up losing because of people like you, you don't come in to play the blame game after the fact, or to say what you coulda, woulda, shoulda done, only if....because once the elections are decided, there ain't no do over for a long ass 4 years, usually 8. So good luck with you not lifting a finger beyond the minimum.....in case it ain't enough. Don't know if the rest of us are going to want to take up your slack to save this nation and so much of what on the one hand you claim to really, really care about so much till everything to date has made you sooo pissed, yet on the other hand, you ain't willing to give it your all.

13. At least till the day before election day.....
Which is when all of the folks that did nothing but bash for his entire term,
will wake the fuck up and realize, if they weren't willing to save their own sorry
asses, why should have anyone else? Elections have consequences, and I hope that most
of them are willing to live with them, even as they "claim" to care soooo much, when
in reality, it is obvious that they really don't give much of a fuck.
