WH and Obama need to "go to the mats" with any news organization
that prints headlines or headlines a story like this:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/11/18/AR2009111802545.html?hpid=topnews

"White House backs off Mammogram guidelines"

This makes it look like the WH and Obama were behind this study or ordered it and approved of it. This is the media at its worst when they are trying to malign someone with "untruths." It's point scoring at its finest and practiced by FOX a lot. Now the Washington Post is falling into line behind the RW re-framing, re-naming, and general misleading information. The Press Secretary should make a huge issue out of this and turn the entire ploy around to benefit healthcare reform by making it known that any Public Option would not use these guidelines and the government would not back any insurance reform that would. Time to get smarter and beat the RW at its own game.

1. Here........
http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2009/11/17/reality-check-beware-what-2

Keep in mind, we have not had a regular press briefing in over a week and ALL of the WH Big Dog front people (Gibbs, Ax, Jarret) are currently on their way back from Asia.

Daddy will be home at 7pm tonight. This will be addressed further.

2. I'm wondering who is behind that study, the timing is suspicious.
Like somebody wanted to "prove" that the government will have death panels.

Exactly. I'm so sick of the BS! Federally funded doesn't mean they mandated it. The timing of this garbage report is suspect. I wish to hell that the media would have assisted our voices being heard during the bush presidency.

5. I disagree
There's an old saying that goes, never pick a fight with someone who buys ink by the barrel.

There's no good to come from politically targeting any news organization, it looks terrible politically, guarantees more bad press, and it helps the organization being attacked.

There's another old saying that goes, insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. So far, every administration official who has picked a fight with the press has lost and been forced to resign (three so far, and we're only 10 months into this administration!)

In the bigger picture, there are just so many more important things for the government of the United States to worry about than poor editorial control in the media.

6. Take a look at the track record of these fine gentlemen
writing @ Wapo;

http://projects.washingtonpost.com/staff/articles/rob+stein+and+dan+eggen/

With headlines like these you begin to understand their agendas.

It could also happen be that you're trying to drive traffic to their website, because if I see
thrash headlines like that, there is no reason why I should share it with everyone, I don't feel
that type of need, but, thats just me....
