Edited on Wed Aug-17-11 07:25 PM by Brigid
He suggests that for a jobs bill, Obama should bundle together all the projects lawmakers have been clamoring for in their districts into one bill an d submit that to Congress. Tweety called it "offer they can't refuse." I think it's ingenious myself. What do you think?

4. It is not much different than what was already done.

That was basically done already.
Remember when Obama got Congress to pass the 'stimulus' bill?
There was TONS of money in there for shovel ready projects.
The states just had to send their requests for the projects that they wanted money for, and then the states were sent the money.

I don't understand why Chris Matthews has forgotten that.

The problem was that Congress did not approve 'enough money', the stimulus should have been bigger - at least two times bigger.

Now with us Dems not having 60 votes in the Senate and the House being controlled by the GOP, pigs will fly before Congress approves another stimulus bill ;(

7. Rachel had guy who developed this idea on recently (w attribution),
and point was its not a large bill (like stimulus) but rather lots of small 'projects,' which repugs should find difficult to refuse as they're in their districts.

5. I think Tweety has got it this time. If we cannot get targeted jobs then
settle for what we can get. I am sure the congress persons will try to take credit for it though. We could even fund Palin's bridge to nowhere and just move it to someplace they do need a bridge.

6. Fine idea. Would be better if he gave attribution.
Rachel had 'developer' of the idea on her show recently.
(Don't think much of Tweety.)
