My guess is that this camp sign is just a continuation of what will be a long, tortured run UNLESS somebody gets smart in the Republican Party to get the guy OUT. The embarrassments will just pile up otherwise...

I say he's out before the first primary...

2. I don't think he'll even be in the next debate. Would that question
ever dare to be asked? He's toast for sure.

4. I think it will only happen when his donors desert him.
Sadly, most of his big money buddies, who probably have spent time at his stupid camp, probably don't have any problem with that kind of language.

We'll see if they see another flavor they like better....

7. Isn't this just mind boggling? I cannot, in my wildest imagination, think of
anything so crazy and so blatant as abiding this sign over the past several years! It's the kind of thing that is making the media's jaw drop...

13. I can't believe how many people he brought to that place w/sign proudly displayed.
When even people who like him, and say they will vote for him, had seen the thing and been disgusted by it, you just have to wonder.

I don't get how they can even associate with him!

5. Perry is a fighter and fights dirty
Unless the money is cut off, I do not see Perry getting out of the race. Romney did not pick up any strength last week and is very vulnerable in the South. Remember that Romney is a Mormon and there is a significant portion of the GOP base in the South who do not consider Mormons to be chirstians. Perry is a fighter and will use this issue at some point. Remember that next weekend, Romney will be at the Value Voters Summit appearing just before Bryan Fischer of the AFA. The AFA was one of the sponsors of Perry's prayer event in Houston back in August and Fischer has taken the position that Mormons are not chrisitans and are not protected by the First Amendment.

In addition, Perry has not finished attacking Romney on the health care issue. Just this week, the Obama administration gave Romney a "death hug" by praising Romney's role in developing the Affordable Care Act. http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/political-animal/2011_10/the_latest_in_a_series_of_deat032557.php Perry and others will at some point start using these comments by the Obama administration against Romney in ads.

Perry is too good of a dirty fighter to pass up these opportunities. I doubt that this race is over.

6. money
When the cash stops flowing in, he'll decide to "do the right thing" and endorse anyone but Romney.

On the other hand, I believe there's some incentive in bailing before the money is all gone as it can be converted to his re-election run for governor (I think).

11. Texas rules are far more liberal
Perry has been financed by a handful of billionaires in that there are no limits to the amount that they can donate for a state race. The federal limits are much tighter as to the campaign itself which is why Perry has a couple of superpacs lined up to help.

It will be interesting to see how Perry's fund raising numbers turn out

8. He's in it till the end
way too many people have entirely too much money invested in Perry. He can't just walk away. He wouldn't be allowed to even if he wanted to, which he is too arrogant to do anyway so it doesn't matter.

14. He probably thinks he has a good explanation..
thinks people will forget about it...

thinks the issue isn't important enough to bother with it...

thinks that because he is from Texas that it shouldn't matter...

15. We used to drive through throckmorton on our way home from Altus OK
Dreary little town - all weedy and full of rusted out oil pipes. The home of Dallas Cowboy Bob Lilly. Remember going through there one year and they were out of water. They had to pipe in water from quite a ways. I would go crazy living out there, but then if its all you knew - what can you do?
