1. I watched but I missed the beginning, so thanks!
The president was charming and well spoken, as usual, IMO. :)

3. I saw it and Obama did great on there!
The conversation was both serious and light and Obama came across very likeable and like a guy who knows what the hell is going on in the world. When you look at him and those dopes at the GOP debate, it's a slam dunk in my eyes.

7. Conan O'Brien.
He replaced Leno and then Leno took his show back... :( I prefer Letterman, but I watched the president tonight. :hi:

6. It was sort of interesting to see Jay take short jabs at him.
Leno was not exactly a "friendly" host to the President.

9. I didn't get that sense. I thought Leno framed the questions favorably
so that the President was able to respond and rebut, such as when POTUS quashed the "lead from behind" concept as a media meme.

10. Oh for the love of God!!!!
I watch comedians for my own enjoyment...I imagine most do. Think about it...you are going to deny yourself some good laughs for a millionaire. Someone who has gotten more great opportunities than all of us combined, also makes more money than all of us combined.

Conan, instead of showing some kind of class and appreciation for everything he's gotten or maybe acknowleging all the other good comedians who have never and will never get close to getting what he's gotten...HE WHINES! "Oh poor me...yes I've gotten so much...but I wanted MORE!"

When Jay Leno was taken from a successful time slot of 11:00 to 10:00 he didn't like it, but he didn't cry like a baby. He was grateful to have a great job and he did his best with it. It's the crowd mentality that made him evil and Conan saintly.

Anyway...I don't think Conan is funny. I prefer witty jokes to watching someone make goofy facial expressions.

So, now I will watch the videos, since didn't watch last night and prehaps comment on them.

12. Oh for the love of dog back at ya.
What actually happened: NBC promised Conan The Tonight Show five years before Leno would retire from late night. Five years. Conan moved his entire show and family to LA. Leno retired from late night but began having second thoughts. So, he put on his big shoes and squeezed O'Brien out. Much like he did to Letterman when Carson retired.

After 16 years and 2,725 shows, O’Brien would be moving, along with almost all his staff, to Universal City in California to take over “The Tonight Show.” He’d had time to ponder his farewell. In 2004, when O’Brien’s contract was up and other networks were aggressively wooing him, NBC promised him their flagship. “But they wanted me to wait five years to be the host of ‘The Tonight Show,’ ” O’Brien told me. “And in 2004, 2009 sounded absurdly far away."

--snip--

While O’Brien was concentrating on his final show and his plans for “The Tonight Show,” Jay Leno was becoming more and more unhappy about the idea of retiring from late-night television.

11. was a great show.
I thought the President looked tired. And he should be.

Wish he'd take more breaks from the constant crazy tho.

Usually I don't like Leno much but he did okay. I think he was genuinely honoured to have Obama there. The audience sure did as well.
