Hillary Clinton's mother, Dorothy Rodham, dies
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's mother, Dorothy Howell Rodham, died on Tuesday at the age of 92, the Clinton family said in a statement.

"Her story was a quintessentially American one, largely because she wrote it herself," the statement said, calling Rodham "a woman who told a great joke and always got the joke; an extraordinary friend and, most of all, a loving wife, mother and grandmother."

Rodham, who lived with Clinton in Washington, died surrounded by her family, who will hold a private memorial service, the statement said.

2. I'm so sorry to hear the news.
I figured that it had to be something serious when it was announced last night that Hillary had canceled her trip to London and Turkey.

Mrs. Rodham was a great woman. She had a tough childhood, but emerged from it strong and determined. She instilled in Hillary the belief that a girl could be anything she wanted to be if she worked hard at it. She was very proud of Hillary and Hillary adored her. So did Chelsea. My heart goes to both of them and the rest of the family.

Rest in peace, Dorothy.

5. I lost my Grandmother last Decemeber, she was 89.
Although she lived a really long, fulfilled life, it was still hard to lose her. My thoughts and prayers are with Hillary and her family.

8. Hi, Jenni!!!!
How are things with you?

It's always terrible to lose a loved one, particularly a mother. No one will ever love us like our mothers because their love is unconditional (of course there are some exceptions, not everyone had a good mother).

Hillary and her mom were very close, she must be devastated. Dorothy lived with Hillary in DC, so her loss is going to hit her harder since she will now go home to an empty house. Bill lives mostly in NY and doesn't like to go to DC unless he has to; Chelsea lives in NY too.

Well, that's life and sooner or later death affects us all.

:hi:

4. My condolences, Secretary Clinton.
It's terrible to lose a parent, no matter how anticipated it might be. It makes you feel very alone in the world.
