Jimmy Kimmel to host correspondents’ dinner

Comedian Jimmy Kimmel will host the 2012 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner.

“Jimmy’s humor is sophisticated and edgy while appealing to a wide audience,” Reuters journalist and White House Correspondents’ Association President Caren Bohan said Tuesday, according to Reuters.

Kimmel, the host of “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” will headline the 98th Correspondents’ Association dinner on April 28, 2012.

Seth Meyers of “Saturday Night Live” was the star comedian at the 2011 dinner, which took place during renewed calls by so-called “birthers” for President Obama to prove that he is an American citizen.

Obama used his time on stage to lampoon real estate mogul Donald Trump, who was then floating the idea of jumping into the 2012 presidential race and was also one of the loudest voices questioning whether Obama was a natural-born citizen.

Obama was hilarious! He destroyed Trump to his face in front of the world! All while knowing the secret mission to kill Bin Laden was in motion!

Can't wait to see how jimmy does...I think he will be funny as well.

With each pulsing close up of the birth certificate it was like a "fuck you" to the birthers. Loved it. When he introduced his "birth video" and it was the opening of the Lion King, I nearly fell out of my chair laughing. Hilarious.
