The only person to publicly defend Cain? - His wife
Herman Cain 'totally respects women,' wife says in rare interview
'I'm thinking he would have to have a split personality to do the things that were said,' Gloria Cain says

Claims of sexual harassment against Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain don't ring true because he "totally respects women," his wife Gloria Cain said in excerpts of a Fox News Channel interview released on Sunday.

Only on msnbc.com Perry support plummets after debate flub

..Gloria Cain told Fox News' Greta Van Susteren: "I'm thinking he would have to have a split personality to do the things that were said."

Cain's wife of 43 years has remained largely hidden from public view as her husband seeks the party's nomination to run against President Barack Obama in 2012. She addressed the sexual harassment allegations that have roiled her husband's campaign in a rare interview to be aired Monday during the show "On the Record."

Of course it was on FOXsnews

1. Goodness knows, a wife knows everything about her husband.
I doubt there has ever been a case of a man getting away with something sleazy while his wife was completely clueless about it. If she says he's wonderful, then by God, he's wonderful.

Will the stupidity on the right never end? It seems to be getting worse, not better.

2. Yeah, we got a little taste of KochCain's 'respect for women'
in that slam against Anita Hill last week. Her defense of dear hubby falls flat.

3. Possble reasons:
Denial
Cognitive dissonance, i.e., she compartmentalizes
Knows but it doesn't matter
Knows but has to defend the character of her husband under the circumstances.

4. when someone so vested in maintaining the reputation....and premise
that they had married someone really admirable, SAY so..... Why exactly is that automatically credible?

Denial is not just that big river in Africa. Mrs. Cain may not know--or may and chose to look the other way. Regardless, why should we be surprised? Why should we take her POV as credible?

5. Jon Stewart said it best:
"What kind of marriage would you have that if you get accused of putting your hands up other women's skirts your wife goes 'that is so you! That is so you, Herman! That is so you!' SHE'S YOUR WIFE! Of course she doesn't know you do that sh*t. I bet she doesn't know your computer has a clear history button."

can't think of one instance where when the wife stands up for her husband accused of nasty, that she turns out to be right.

Yes, Gloria, people were surprised by the Green River Killer, Ted Bundy and a whole lot of other folks who seemed like good people but did nasty things.

That said, your husband doesn't even seem like a good person. I don't think he had to "split" much to bring out his pervy molester side.
