The Media Wakes Up And Realizes Obama Is The Favorite To Win In 2012

Along with a declining unemployment rate, new polling suggests that President Obama is gaining steam and the media narrative is now shifting towards Obama being favored to win reelection in 2012.

1. K&R! This is what America needs
and for a few there, I was beginning to doubt the sanity of most Americans - those who'd sent more Republicans to Congress either by voting for him or believing Obama and Democrats aren't pure enough for their ethics and morals to deserve their vote.

Despite unprecedented Republican obstructionism, President Obama has been able to push this country forward.

He's shown his stuff. Now let's get behind him so he can really make this country shine.

23. Yes indeed
In fact he can play 3d chess, not every time, but a lot of the time.

Now all the media can hope for is that Lindsay Lohan has an ongoing insane crisis for the next year to be able to sell news minutes.

2. The media also just realized that the Republicans got their lunch eaten by Obama on the debt deal.
They also just found out that Mr. Obama is beating the Republicans to death over supporting raising taxes on the 99%, and backing them into the corner as defenders of the wealth of the 1%.

The media also is finally seeing that the so-called Republican candidates for their party's nomination are all idiots, fakers, grifters and sharlatans.

5. I doubt it ... the media needs a CLOSE election ... they do not care who wins.
Obama should beat the right wing maniacs by about 30%.

But that would SUCK for ratings.

And so ... when Newt say kids should handle dangerous chemicals after we fire trained Janitors, claim this will fix both the educational system and the job crisis, the media calls that nonsense ... BOLD, REFRESHING ... its a BIG IDEA!!!

Sure ... it is a BIG IDEA ... its a HUGE STUPID IDEA ... but they won't say that ... the race needs to be too tight to call!!

If not, we could FIRE about 75% of the idiot pundits ... and that would lead to a full depression.

10. I have thought this way for awhile now
It's still way too early to breathe a sigh of relief but I'm glad to see that the media is (finally) catching up and noticing that the GOP candidates are either lackluster or seriously crazy and unelectable. :eyes:

11. I wouldn't read too much into it. The Corporate Media is still trying to shove Mittens
down our collective throats.

We still need to work especially hard at the local and congressional levels!

12. The MSM doesn't sleep or 'wake up' -- they sell non-stop.
The MSM knows what they are doing. They aren't going to 'wake up' because they aren't asleep. What a naive idea.

13. I don't see any change
both the poll results and the way they are written up don't seem any different to me: Obama has somewhat low approval numbers, but in hypothetical matchups he usually is way ahead of his republican rivals. That's been the case for a while, and the media has been reporting it. The stories are often posted at DU.

This author claims there's a change, but doesn't provide any evidence of it.

15. Sometimes even Rassy has to acknowledge that all that work
they are going to...to raise the hopes of the "R" and try and demoralize the "D" isn't working. Now it's time to back pedal to save their own reputations and make the PR claim they are accurate prognosticators.

22. I don't know why suddenly they have recognized that he will
win in 2012. I believe it will be by a landslide. Again. Democrats even ones like myself who are somewhat disappointed with many aspects of Obama will show up in droves. The clown car that is the Repukes are enough to scare the bejeezus out of folks that have opposable thumbs.

26. Oh, come on.
The media plays a very large role in deciding who wins and shaping the competition. If they decide to act now as if Obama is the favourite, that's what they'll do. They can just as well change their mind in another month. This is not a story, it's yawnsville.

27. The Repubs have a weak field. Obama is also the incumbent, has
the resources and can campaign well. If the unemployment #'s keep declining and Gingrich is the nominee, it would put Obama in a good position. In other words...how stupid does one need to be to not realize any of that?

And that whoever their great white hope* is this week will win in a landslide among real Americans.
