Rick Perry latest to skip Trump-moderated debate
The planned Donald Trump-moderated Republican presidential debate seems to be turning into a bust.

Rick Perry's campaign indicated Thursday that the Texas governor will not participate, saying he will be focused instead on meeting Iowa voters.

"Traditional retail campaigning in the days and weeks leading up to the Iowa caucus is the Perry campaign's top priority," said Perry spokesman Ray Sullivan. Perry is one of a number of GOP presidential candidates who has met with Trump seeking his endorsement.

Three candidates - Mitt Romney, Ron Paul and Jon Huntsman - have previously said they would not participate in the December 27 debate in Des Moines. Huntsman and Paul mocked the event, with Paul deeming it "beneath the office of the presidency," while Romney said his busy schedule precludes his participation.

Newt and the hair yammering about how much "the blacks" love them I guess.

5. I forgot about him
I suppose someone has to blather about the evils of abortion or the fundies aren't going to tune in and The Donald's ratings won't be "Tremendous" as he's promised.

Maybe Michelle will show up to talk about US Embassy's or some other aspect of her vast foreign policy history.

What a clown car this primary is.

2. Getting to be pretty lonely at that debate. Trump won't be a happy camper,
since he is not getting to control these candidates at his circus.

11. Wouldn't it be spectacular if The Newt and The Donald got into a fight?
Sparks would fly! The sky would turn dark and clouds would become black and ominous and lighting storms would break out! It would be like witnessing the wrath of god!

Maybe it'll happen! That would be great! The biggest egos on the planet would never let the other get the last word. Blood would squirt in all directions!

12. I think Newt knows what he's doing
The base will watch. He will be all inflated and sounding presidential. He will give the base a lot of red meat. Newt will portray the others as cowards and succumbing to the left wing media
I'm glad he's going

13. So that appears to leave Bachmann and Santorum. That should be fun.
My guess is that the Trump-moderated debate will be canceled.

16. I don't think Perry's backing out because it's the Trump debate.
He's backing out because it's a debate. I'm sure he wishes he'd done so for all the debates.
