Question submitted by avaistheone1
Skinner, could you please review this exchange and tell me why Paul Craig Roberts articles are being handled this way on DU?

Many thanks,

avaistheone1

Hi,

Our policy is to not allow Roberts or globalresearch.ca pieces on DU, when we are aware of them.

We suggest you contact Administration either directly or in the Ask the Administrators forum to discuss DU policies further.

Thanks, pinto

1. The reason he isn't permitted...
...is precisely the reason the moderator provided to you.

2. Skinner,
Forgive me, I don't understand at all.

An allegation was made by the moderator that Roberts articles are not allowed on DU because the mod alleges Roberts supports white eugenics (this despite the fact there are over 1100 threads featuring Roberts articles on DU). I can not find a shred of evidence that the moderator's allegation is true, nor was any evidence offered by the moderator.

Roberts articles are widely distributed and featured on many progressive sites like Democracy Now, OpEd News and CounterPunch. Are you suggesting that because his articles also appear on Global Research that is a good reason to ban his articles here.
Please note the following liberal/progressive authors articles appear on Global Research and also appear on DU including and not limited to:
David Swanson (also has a journal at DU)
Seymour Hersh
Danny Schecter
Rep. Dennis Kucinich
Rep. Lynn Woolsey
Senator Bernie Sanders
Dr. Peter Dale Scott
Michael Hudson
Prof. Noam Chomsky
Dick Gregory
Ralph Nader
among others

If so is that the policy just for Paul Craig Roberts, or is that DU policy for all writers?

Thank you,
avaistheone1

3. Some further reading for you
First, this:

http://www.vdare.com/appeals/072506_pcr.htm

"My own standing and effectiveness as a policy commentator has never been higher. This is due to the existence of a small group of dissident websites — one being Peter Brimelow's VDARE.COM. Peter has focused VDARE.COM on the immigration issue and what he calls the "National Question" — whether the U.S. can survive as a nation-state, the political expression of a particular people. I wholeheartedly endorse these objectives and applaud the compelling facts and analysis that VDARE.COM delivers because the Mainstream Media will not."

Then, this:

http://www.splcenter.org/vdare-foundation

"Originally established in 1999 by the Center for American Unity, a Virginia-based nonprofit foundation started by English immigrant Peter Brimelow, VDARE.com is an anti-immigration hate website "dedicated to preserving our historical unity as Americans into the 21st Century." Now run by the VDARE Foundation, the site is a place where relatively intellectually inclined leaders of the anti-immigrant movement share their opinions. VDARE.com also regularly publishes articles by prominent white nationalists, race scientists and anti-Semites."
